Jacqui completed her Bachelor’s degree in Science in Environmental Sciences at the University of Pretoria in 2005, and her BSc Honours degree in Geography with EIA and Auditing cum laude in 2006. Her dissertation was entitled “Rock Properties and Weathering at Battle Cave, KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg: Implications for Rock Art Deterioration”.
From 2007 to 2011 Jacqui enjoyed a brief opportunity to lecture at the University of Pretoria for six months in between working for a Climate Change Research Group conducting research within the discipline of Geomorphology in Antarctica, Marion Island, and the Abisko Mountains in Sweden, and co-authored a number of peer-reviewed journal articles. In 2012 to 2013 she overwintered for a third time on Marion Island, in the sub- Antarctic, as the Prince Edward Island’s first dedicated Environmental Control Officer. Jacqui joined Ken Smith under KSE Services for an internship in 2013, and shortly thereafter joined the uKhozi Environmentalists team as a Junior Environmental Scientist and Administrative Director.
