About the Awards
Held locally for the first time in 2012, the southern African awards are linked to the IAP2 International Core Values Awards, which showcase global excellence in projects and organisations in the practice.
The same criteria and rigorous process were followed, in particular in the application of the IAP2 CORE VALUES.
The independent judging panel this year featured five judges who have each contributed their unique energy and expertise in different ways to promoting excellence in public participation both in South Africa and internationally.
The Awards are a central feature in the mission of IAP2 to advance and extend the practice of public participation around the world. Open to anyone who has undertaken public participation, they have been successfully held annually at an international level for nearly a decade.
Examples of past winners of the International Core Values Awards (IAP2) can be found in the State of the Practice Reports.
